Is using a diaper service sanitary?
Yes. We use an 8 step process to lauder the diapers. They are washed at a temperature to kill all bacteria and sanitized. We use clean-rinsing, natural detergents. You can rest assured that you baby will be safe using our diapers.
Will I receive the same diapers back each week?
For the most part, yes. Your diapers are washed as a separate load, and are counted when clean. Stained or damaged diapers will be replaced, and the rest will continue in your rotation.
I am running out of diapers before my delivery. Is there a charge for extras?
There is no charge for extra diapers in most cases. If you'll be out of diapers before your delivery day, call us and we'll bring more. There is no need to wash our diapers yourself.
Will you wash my covers, fitteds, and all-in-ones?
We will wash anything you would like that is diaper related. If you have items that are similar to ours, you may wish to mark them with a laundry marker. There is no extra charge to wash your items that are in the bag with your regular pick-up.
Do you have a gift registry?
Diaper Service is one of the best gifts to receive since you'll need diapers for at least two years! To add your name to the gift certificate list in the online store, fill out this form and check the box that says "add my name to the gift certificate list." We'll email you some cards you can cut out and insert into your shower invitations. If you are doing an E-vite, you can link your invitation to our products page.
How do I purchase a Gift Certificate?
You may call the office to purchase the gift with a credit card, or you may purchase the gift online by going to our products page. Simply choose your recipient from the drop-down list. If they don't appear on the list, let us know in the comment section at check-out who the recipient should be.
We'll either email or mail the gift certificate to you or to the recipient. You may choose these options at checkout. We can include a personal message on the certificate as well.
Our gift certificates are full color and adorned at the top with a matching ribbon. We also offer a mini diaper cake made with 5 cloth diapers as a holder for your certificate for an additional $10.
What if I am going on vacation?
If you want to take the diapers with you, go ahead! We'll even give you some extras to take with you if you request them in advance. If you'd rather suspend your service, just mark your order form that you'll not need a delivery next week. We'll credit your next invoice for the week you missed. In order to receive a credit, there must be a skipped delivery/pick-up.
What if I forget to put my diapers out on delivery day?
If your diapers aren't outside, the driver will knock, and if you're home, will wait for your diapers. If you aren't home, we'll still leave the clean diapers and pick up the dirty ones next week. Don't worry, you'll still get more clean diapers next week too, and then we'll remove the extras from your rotation. If you forget two weeks in a row, we'll have to make an extra trip to get the dirty diapers when you are home, and charge a $5 trip fee.
Is there a discount for twins or multiple children?
Yes! Twins, Siblings, and child care providers receive a 20% discount off their total service bill each month.
Do I have to sign a contract?
No, you may cancel at any time. We simply request a two week notice.
Is there a set-up fee?
No, we do not require a set-up fee. Your initial consultation is free. We'll show you how to use the diapers and leave you with everything you'll need to get started. Your service will begin the first day you start using the diapers. If you change your mind about using the service after the baby is born, we charge for one week of service and come back to get the diapers.
What if I want to launder my own diapers?
We have a full inventory of everything you will need, including detergent. We offer a free in-home consultation We offer several wash at home starter packages for $59.00, complete with care and use instructions for those that want to try cloth without a big investment. There are also several packages available to provide occasional support for those who wash at home.
Can I purchase some diapers for personal use such as cleaning rags?
Yes, we sell diapers still usable as diapers for $10 per dozen, and those suitable as rags for $3 per dozen. Email us for availability.
What do we do with the dirty diapers?!?
You simply remove the diaper from the baby and put it in the diaper pail. You don't have to remove the poop. If it's solid, you can shake it into the toilet to cut down on odor in your diaper pail.
How do we keep odor under control with a whole week of diapers in the house?
The service comes with a waterproof bag to keep the dirty diapers in. At our house, we keep a round trash can with a tight fitting lid (not a flip-top) in the bathroom with the pail liner as the liner. We can't smell the dirty diapers except when we open the lid. Our liner will also fit into a Diaper Champ. If you want to use a Diaper Genie or similar system, you can tie up your plastic bags and put them inside our bag for pick-up.
Do you provide a diaper pail?
We don't provide a diaper pail so that you are free to use your own system of diaper storage. Diaper Genie, Diaper Champ, and Diaper Dekor all work fine for cloth diapers. If you aren't sure what to use, we suggest a kitchen size trash can with a tight fitting lid as the most economical option.
